Crettyard GAA

Strictly Fun Dancing

Since this adventure began the goodwill and support I am getting has been unbelievable, Opportunities I never expected have emerged.  The secretary of Crettyard GAA, Martin Patterson invited me to be a guest judge at their Strictly Fun Dancing evening on Saturday the 25th of October in Carlow. I was surprised to say the least.

So with butterflies in my tummy, I set off to the Seven Oaks Hotel in Carlow, where Crettyard GAA put on a fantastic nights entertainment.  Competition was tight and nerves tingled, leading to a four couple dance off, making the task even harder for all-star footballer, Joe Higgins, Seamus ‘Stumpy’ Rice, last year’s winner, Laois Rose, Teresa Brennan and yours truly. The winners of the evening were Evan and Tara with a wonderful version of Dirty Dancing. Crettyard GAA club raised money for their club but here’s the thing, they also wrote a cheque to the value of €150 to Dyspraxia Ireland, the charity of my choice. How good was that!  Here’s a pic of all the fab dancers whose hard work and commitment showed on the night. Huge thanks Crettyard GAA for giving me the opportunity to spread the word about my novel Butterfly Barn, because of them the book will be stocked in Eason’s Carlow and Eason’s Portlaois. Cheers Crettyard GAA, and very best wishes for the future.

What a small world and how clever of Judy to pick up on the mention of Crettyard in both our tweets!

I look forward to reading your book. I will pop into Easons in Carlow for a copy. We’ll have to meet and talk writing, farming and self publishing 🙂
